Multidisciplinary care involves the collaboration of different physicians to care for a condition that requires a variety of specialties. If a patient comes in with an aggressive skin cancer, they may require attention not only from their dermatologist, but also medical oncology, radiation oncology, and surgical oncology. The intention of her practice is to provide a streamlined collaboration where the patient does not feel that they are getting shuffled around for care. In addition, by partnering with our colleagues in Honor Health Research, Dr. Thosani can enroll patients in studies and provide access to novel therapeutics. She also regularly attends the Cutaneous Oncology Tumor Board to discuss difficult cases with her colleagues across other specialties. Her goal is to create a marriage between the clinical, research and academic environments to provide an elevated level of care.
